The Inclusive Mobility Summer school will be held in Belgium and France where EIT Urban Mobility students and external participants will attend Ghent University (UGent) and the University of Rennes (UNIVREN) from June 26th to July 7th.

Through intensive Innovation and Entrepreneurship (I&E) training, participants will identify challenges related to inclusion in intermodal mobility and design innovative solutions to improve not only physical accessibility but also affordability and information accessibility. In the first week at UGent participants will address challenges in mobility inclusivity provided by planning agencies, academic experts, industry partners, and vulnerable end users. In the second week at UNIVREN students will design potential business models specifically through market and segment analysis, financial forecast technology and I.P. issues.

The Summer school relies on key actors related to the consortium partners.
Among the organizations already collaborating with the consortium are:

  • ID4CAR, the French hub in the field of urban mobility;
  • the Rennes Metropole;
  • Keolis, the company that manages the public transport in Rennes;
  • De Lijn, the public transport operator for the Flanders region in Belgium;
  • the City of Ghent.

Among the start-ups providing case studies from Rennes and Ghent ecosystems are Nielsen Concept, Okeenea, Hoop, Obuu, Poomba, Flit2go, Mpact, and Fietsambassade Gent.

Over two weeks, participants interested in innovation, data, and cities issues will work collectively on an original and concrete project in the field of urban mobility. Through this participants will work closely with companies as business case providers.

Their goal: Inclusive mobility
